The Open Source movement has truly been nothing short of a
revolution. In a report published in 2003, CIO Weekly stated that
within five years, 54% of CIO's surveyed said that open source would be
their primary platform. From 1984 (when we first heard of Richard
Stallman and the Free Software Foundation) till 2004 (when the
Brazilian government organized the largest ever open source event in
the country and formally declared its adoption) - the software world
has been witness to a storm that has changed our landscape for good.
